Sarah Carey Reilly, 71, one of the first and most prominent Washington lawyers to help open the former Soviet Union to foreign investment by providing legal counsel for U.S. and multinational companies that wished to do business there, died July 29 of pneumonia at George Washington University Hospital. |

On May 12-15, 2010, the “Vodnik” sailing club (Moscow region) hosted a symposium that summarized the results of the first year of the Community schools in Russia: a new generation project. The project is implemented by the New Eurasia Foundation with financial support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and is designed to create sustainable development mechanisms for the Russian community schools movement, enhance the social activity of local community members, facilitate the democratization of the secondary education, as well as to create conditions required to train community school specialists at teachers training universities and qualifications improvement institutes. |

The results of the open nationwide contest Best regional newspaper - 2009 were determined and its winners were rewarded at the fourth annual international conference Local Newspaper Au Courant, which was held on April 16-18, 2010 in Moscow. The conference was organized by the New Eurasia Foundation and the Alliance of Independent Regional Publishers. |

The New Eurasia Foundation, a non-commercial organization, invites audit companies to take part in the open competition and submit their bids for the right to audit the expenditure of the US government funds, including the funds of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for the period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 in compliance with the “Guidelines for Financial Audits Contracted by Foreign Recipients” issued in February 2009 (US Agency for International Development, Office of Inspector General). |
